Asheville Amadeus: Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra

March 18, 2017 @ 2:00 pm

- $20.00

The Asheville Symphony announces the return of the 10-day festival that was inspired by the music and life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We are thrilled the incomparable Midori will be joining forces with us to present a schedule of performances, education programs, collaborations with community partners, and social events. The festival culminates with a finale concert featuring Midori on Sunday, March 19th. This celebration will have something for everyone — from beer to theatre to music.

Headlining the 2017 festival as featured performer and artist-in-residence is master musician and innovator Midori. Midori made her now-legendary debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 11, and as a seasoned artist she is champion of making music education accessible for children in underserved communities. A Grammy Award winner, she received the Crystal Award from the World Economic Forum in recognition of her devotion to community engagement work worldwide, and has been named a Messenger of Peace by the United Nations.
