Take I-240 East into Asheville. Take Exit 4C (Montford Ave./Visitors Center). Turn left at the light at the top of the off-ramp onto Haywood Street. You will see the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville directly ahead.
Coming from the East
Take I-240 West into Asheville. Take Exit 4C (Montford Ave./Haywood Street/Visitors Center). Turn left at the light at the top of the off-ramp onto Montford Avenue. Cross over the highway and turn left at the light onto Haywood Street. At the second light you will see the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville directly ahead.
Event Parking Information
Special Event Parking Rate is $9.00 per vehicle; Multi-Day Event Parking rate is $7.00 per vehicle.
Special event rates are charged when large events are held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville and for certain other downtown events. The number of garages charging special event rates depends on the size and scope of the event. Parking fees for special events are collected upon entry to the garage. A portion of every Special Event Parking ticket sold through the City garages goes towards renovating the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. Thank you for your help in restoring one of Asheville’s oldest theatres!

ADA & Accessible Parking
There are a limited amount of handicap parking spaces available near HCCA. It is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so please plan accordingly. There are two handicap parking spaces on Page Ave (across the street), one space in front of Vanderbilt Apts. (Haywood St), and five spaces on the side of Vanderbilt Apts. (Vanderbilt Place). The Harrah’s Cherokee Center Garage has twelve handicap parking spaces, Rankin and Wall Street Garages have 7 spaces each, and the Biltmore Ave Garage has eleven spaces.
There is a pick-up/drop-off zone in front of the building, so the person with the disability can be let out in front of the facility while another person parks the vehicle.
On Street Parking
There are more than 700 on-street metered spaces in downtown Asheville. All meters are for short term parking (two hours or less, as marked) at a cost of $1.50 per hour. All meters accept coins only. You can also pay for on-street metered parking with a credit or debit card via Passport Parking by following the instructions listed on the parking meters. The metered spaces are enforced from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday.
There is no charge for metered spaces after 6 pm on Monday through Saturday, or all day Sunday. Parking is free on designated city holidays (handicap parking and loading zones still enforced).

664 spaces - 11 SEARS ALLEY - 7 Minute Walk - Flat
Regular Rates: $2 for the hour and an additional $1 per hour after that with a daily max of $12

650 spaces - COLLEGE STREET PARKING GARAGE - 10 Minute Walk - Flat

The College Street Garage, operated by Buncombe County has 650 available spaces. It is located across the street from the Buncombe County Courthouse on College St. The entrance is located on College St (westbound traffic only).

The Rankin Avenue Garage, City operated, with 262 spaces, is located between Haywood Street and Rankin Avenue just north of College Street, with a pedestrian entrance off of Haywood Street. There are two entrances, one off of Walnut Street and the other off of Rankin Avenue. The main vehicle exit is on Rankin Avenue with an exit for permit vehicles on College Street.

The Wall Street Garage, City operated, has 232 spaces and is located off Otis Street between Wall Street and Battery Park Avenue, immediately across the street from the Grove Arcade. The entrance to this garage is on Otis Street. The vehicle exit from this garage is located at the corner of Battery Park and Page Avenues. Pedestrian exits are located at Otis Street, Wall Street and Battery Park Avenue.

The Biltmore Ave Garage is located under the Aloft Hotel on Biltmore Avenue. This facility has 404 spaces total, but due to the joint venture with the hotel these spaces may go as low as 289 available depending on the hotel’s occupancy. There are public restrooms located off of Aston Street on level P1 of the facility. The entrances are located on Biltmore Avenue (Southbound Only) and South Lexington Avenue. The exits are located on Aston Street and South Lexington Avenue. Pedestrian traffic may enter off of Aston Street, Biltmore Avenue and South Lexington.

The Harrah’s Cherokee Center Garage is largest City operated garage with 550 spaces. The garage is located behind the Buncombe County Public Library off of Haywood Street, adjacent to Vanderbilt Apartments and the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville. There are two entrances to this garage, one entrance off of Haywood Street between the library and the Vanderbilt Apartments, and the other off of Rankin Avenue at the rear of the garage. The main vehicle exit is on Rankin Avenue with an exit for permit vehicles at Haywood Street. Pedestrian exits are located at Rankin Avenue, Walnut Street, and on Haywood Street (fifth floor connection with Buncombe County Public Library).
